With great privilege comes great responsibility. In South Africa, there are millions of school children who can't afford any pads at all, let alone the kind that is better for them.
The ripple effects of period poverty run far and wide. For women especially, the inability to afford pads means skipping school frequently. This in turn affects career options and opportunities in the long run. A woman without options and education is limited in what she can teach her children, it can cause her to become dependent on a man, it can lead to gender-based violence in the home.
We want to do our part to bridge that gap, providing dignity and in turn opportunity. On our website, we allow you to purchase pads for schoolchildren in need at a reduced rate which will be distributed to those in need by our friends at The Cora Project.
